Pronounced key-hay, Kihei is located in sunny South Maui. The Hawaiian meaning is "cape" or a traditional tapa cloth cloak tied in a knot.

Temperature
The average temperature is a moderate 75-85 degrees Farrenheit with rainfall averaging less than six inches/year or 30 cm. Kihei boasts Maui's sunniest and driest weather with fairly constant afternoon tropical breezes.

Kihei has several shopping centers, farmers markets, craft fairs, major supermarkets and health food stores. Dozens of restaurants cater to every budget, preference and appetite. Many are within walking distance from our units at Kihei Park Shore.
Winter Whales
Maui is well known for it's gigantic visitors each winter, the Humpback Whales. There are only 7000-8000 Humpbacks left around the world, with approximately 1500 visiting the waters of Hawaii each winter. Bring your binoculars because it can be easy to spot these amazing endangered creatures off the white sand beaches of Kihei!
